Grenen is the northern tip of Denmark, just north of Skagen. At Grenen the two seas Skagerrak and Kattegat meet, creating a symphony of sea and light. Standing at the tip of Grenen looking to the northeast you will see the line in the sea where the waters of the two seas clash.

Where two seas meet

At the northern tip of Jutland, a spot called Grenen, the two seas Skagerrak and Kattegat meet. The sight of the waves, coming from two directions and clashing along a line going out to sea, is truly fascinating. But beware – even when the sea at Grenen looks calm, the currents are strong. It is extremely dangerous to swim here, and strictly prohibited!

The area at Grenen is a nature reserve – attracting, among others, migrating birds and birdwatchers. There is also a seal colony. Often you see them relaxing on wartime bunkers or on the beach. They are used to people, but please do not get to close to them.

You can take Sandormen, a wagon pulled by a tractor, from the parking space to the tip at Grenen.
