Book an early summer holidayKick off summer early and book a holiday home break at the top of Denmark in June or early July. In weeks 24–28, there are plenty of benefits to choosing a holiday home stay in North Jutland. In June, the days are longer and the nights brighter. In all our holiday home areas — such as Skagen, Sæby, Ålbæk, or Frederikshavn — you can enjoy long walks and pure relaxation in peaceful surroundings and beautiful dune landscapes. In the town of Skagen, you’ll also find a special, authentic atmosphere on every corner. If you take your summer holiday outside peak season, you’ll have a wider selection of holiday homes to choose from and lower prices. In other words, you can get more for your money by booking an early summer holiday. Plan your holiday outside peak season – with benefitsThere are plenty of good reasons to take a summer holiday outside peak season — especially during the early summer weeks. You still get all the best parts of summer, plus a little extra. You’ll have the long June days as part of your stay, with late sunsets and golden evening hours. That means more time on the terrace, more swims, and more time to relax. In town, the atmosphere feels more authentic, and you’ll experience local life in a special way. The dune landscapes are green, the heathland begins to bloom, and the coastal towns feel fresh and full of life. Booking outside peak season can also mean a lower price for your stay — not a bad bonus at all. Experiences in North JutlandThere are plenty of opportunities for great experiences when you spend your holiday in North Jutland — and there’s something for every interest. If you’re into art and ceramics, visit Skagens Museer or simply wander the streets and peek through open doors. Many artists are based in Skagen and are happy to welcome visitors into their creative workshops. Visit well-known attractions such as Grenen and The Buried Church (Den Tilsandede Kirke) at your own pace, or explore the area’s excellent cycling and hiking routes. If you enjoy fishing, you’ll find good opportunities for that too. Holiday with childrenIf the whole family is joining you for an early summer holiday, it’s easy to tailor the activities accordingly. Set aside a day for a visit to Farm Fun, located between Skagen and Frederikshavn. Here you can meet lots of friendly animals and use Mooncars and swings. If you head to Hirtshals, we recommend Nordsøen Oceanarium, Northern Europe’s largest aquarium with around 8,000 fish. And if you’d rather stay close to your holiday home, it’s also great fun to build sandcastles, collect shells by the water’s edge, and swim in the sea all day long — especially during the early summer weeks, when there are far fewer visitors than in peak season. Romantic getawaySkagen and the surrounding area are a perfect oasis for romantic quality time — and we actually offer great prices for stays for two. An early summer holiday for a couple could include long walks along the beach, chats on the terrace over a glass of wine (or two), or perhaps a “desert walk” across one of Europe’s largest moving dunes, Råbjerg Mile. In central Skagen, you’ll also find plenty of cosy places to eat that are perfect for a date night. For example, order a delicious serving of moules frites at Skagen Fiskerestaurant or a rich lobster bisque at Jakobs Café |
