Lyngsaa beach

The area at Lyngså and Voerså is one of the most popular for families with small children – they’re attracted by the beautiful beach, and the delightful holiday homes situated between dunes and in pine plantations.

Behind the dunes there are vast heaths. North of these dune heaths you find Professorens Plantage, one of the finest nature areas in this area. A bit south of Lyngså is the bird reservation Stensnæs.

Voer Å is one of the region’s largest streams, twisting its way through the landscape before reaching Kattegat at Voerså. In Voer Å you can catch trout, perch and European flounder (fishing license can be bought at Sæby Touristoffice). In the village Voerså there is a small harbour, and to the east by the sea there is another, larger harbour. For a day with a nice water excursion you can rent a canoe, pedalo or rowboat. For golfers there is a beautiful 18-hole course near the castle Sæbygård Slot.

Other golf courses in the region are Frederikshavn Golf Club, Sindal Golf Club and Hvide Klit Golf Club.

About 10 kilometres från Lyngså you have the picturesque town Sæby with excellent shopping opportunities, art galleries, a charming harbour with good restaurants, and much more.

A bit further up north is Frederikshavn with one of Denmark’s longest pedestrian streets. Along the street, and in its side streets, you will find many different kinds of shops, a diversity of restaurants and cosy cafés. The kids will love a day at either the huge indoor play area Fun House, the indoor “Caribbean” water park (The Reef) or the exotic Palm Beach, all in Frederikshavn.
