Cars but also dogs are welcome at the beach. At Tornby Strand you find a grocery store, a kiosk and a restaurant.
Staying at the holiday home area you are not far from shopping possibilities in Hirtshals. Here you can also go for a coffee in one of the cozy cafés or choose a fine restaurant.
The beach in Tornby Strand is child-friendly and with dunes providing shelter on windy days. South of Tornby Strand there is a large dune plantation, Tormby Klitplantage, with a unique landscape with a variety of both plants and animals. In autumn the forests are full of berries and mushrooms, adding a tasty dimension to the beautiful of the season. The Tornby area has a long tradition of producing 'bjesk' - a kind of akvavit flavoured with herbs or berries. At Tornby Gl. Købmandsgaard and Hirtshals Museum you can buy local 'bjesk'.
