On both sides of Hirtshals there are large dune plantations as far as the eye can see. Both marked and unmarked routes cover plantations as well as the dune landscape – inviting you to explore the area by foot, by bike or on horse. In both eastbound and southbound directions, a national cycle path (Vestkyststien) and an international hiking path (the North Sea trail) lead you directly through Tornby Klitplantage and Lilleheden/Uggerby Klitplantage. A walk in the woods is a hike in the unusual landscape created by the Ice Age.
